Hello, my name is Jeremy Swinnen. I'm a freelance interface designer from Antwerp, Belgium. I design pixel-perfect interfaces for iPhone, iPad and the web.
The iOS-ification of OS X is, at this point, inevitable, and anyone who doesn’t see it, or tries to neglect, is either software-blind or has some kind of interest in that way of thinking.
I can’t agree more with Frederico, that’s how these things go. Yesterday I looked at my old iPod nano 3rd generation, notice how the top bar in the interface is exactly the same how iOS’s is since its launch in 2007.
The iPod’s operation system and UI served as a base for iOS. For mobile devices this is okay, but I’m not sure I want all these touchscreen interactions and elements on a desktop OS, in this case my work machine’s operation system.
The new Vimeo brings even more focus to your videos with a video page that is more cinematic, with a larger, full-width video player and fewer distractions. Your eyeballs are going to adore it. We’ve also reorganized commonly used tools and created new keyboard shortcuts so you can navigate to the next video, “like” a video, or go full-screen without lifting a finger (off your keyboard, anyway).
I’ve been in the beta since day one and I must say that the changes to the design and functionality of Vimeo excites me. I prefer Vimeo over Youtube, I just wish more people are going to use it.

When I launched my blog last October I had mixed feelings. The concept and design in a whole were too serious for my blogging style. When I’m in the mood to blog, I want to do it quick and simple. Usually I start a post on my iPhone outlining what I want to write about and when I’m back home I finish it off on my Mac. My previous design made this simple process way too complex and tedious. Say hello to version 3.
This version of my blog is in just about every way much simpler than its predecessor. Aesthetically the changes are obvious, no color, just black and white. I think there are too few black and white designs on the web. Black and white has its beauty, too! And why the hell not! In terms of the backend, the blog is now running on Tumblr. I’ve experimented with Tumblr before and I quite like the system. It’s quick, easy and versatile.
In the coming weeks you’ll see quite a few (small) changes happening around here in terms of design. Just like Elliot Jay Stocks, Kyle Meyer and quite a few others, I’ll be designing in the open. The concept attracts me in many ways and hopefully will make this design better as time passes.
